Creating sidebar content with the logged in/out shortcodes

Chad Butler · Jul 8, 2012 ·

A powerful use of the WP-Members logged in/out shortcodes is using them to display “login specific” content in the sidebar.  This post will discuss how to set that up.

      Hi Chad,
I’m using the pluging WP-Members Logged In Menus.
      It’s works very good.
But when I’m logged out the sidebar doesn’t show. Which is good. But I want to show some info in the sidebar.
      I added in the function.php “add_filter(‘widget_text’, ‘do_shortcode’);”
So I could put in a shortcode in a text widget.
I created one with a link to my feed “[wpmem_logged_out]feed[/wpmem_logged_out]”
But it doesn’t show when logged out.
I also want to display some posts. But this I don’t know how to do.
      Can you help me please.
      Thanks
      Greets

        Hi Johan

So this is the post you were talking about in your email message – now I understand what you were referring to. Sorry, I thought you were talking about a question you had submitted through the support contact form.

Glad that you were able to work it out (based on what you said in your email message). If there’s anything else about this that comes up, just let me know.
