Force user to update password from randomly set password

This process is similar to the customization Redirect User On First Login.  The difference here is that this forces the user to change their password from the randomly set password prior to being able to continue using the site.  This would occur for initial password sent when registering as well as if a forgotten password is reset.

      Hi Chad,

      I added all of these function to my function.php file, but if a neu user login in first time he becomes always redirected to the login form.
      Did im missed to do something more?

      And the solution is:
      Creating a member page and setting the redirect correctly to this page. 🙂

      The WP interface seems to require SFTP for this code, is that normal?

        The depends entirely on your setup. SFTP would be fairly normal – and preferred over other options. However, you may be able to do it via the editor in WP. Of course if your WP files/directories do not have write permissions (which is a good security best practice), then you won’t be able to edit them via the editor and would have to use SFTP (or FTP, or SSH/shell account).
