With the end of 2017 fast approaching, there is a lot on the horizon for RocketGeek.com.
The past 5 years have been good ones and this fledgling support site for a small WordPress plugin has grown to support thousands of users and has launched some new products. With that growth has come a need to expand.
During the final two months of this year, you’ll begin to see new things from the site. Here’s an overview of what is coming.
New Pricing
This site has been running strong for 5 years and during that time I have only raised prices one time. All along the way the product has been one single product – full site access. With that, subscribers have received plugin support, all of the plugin extensions, forum access, and access to subscriber only content including code snippets and tutorials. On that product, the pricing has been extremely competitive, and by that I mean significantly lower than other similar WordPress products. I’ve tried to hold back on any price increases.
As new pricing is rolled out, this is what it will look like:
- Support Only – this will be a product that will be email support only for the WP-Members plugin. This will include access to articles related specifically to WP-Members customization and priority email support. At launch the pricing will be $59 annually.
- Individual Plugin Extensions – all of the plugin extensions will become individually available products. Purchase will include support for implementing the extension(s) purchased and a 3 site license for receiving automatic updates. Pricing will vary depending on the extension – at launch this will be between $19 – $47 renewable annually.
- Pro Bundle – this will be the equivalent of the current offering, but the price will increase. I have not determined what the price will launch at. This includes plugin support, a 3 site license for all extensions, access to the forums, and the code snippet library.
- Lifetime All Access – this is the All Access subscription but with no renewal. Pay one time only and keep access for life. This will be available for $499.
Note that all current subscribers will keep their “All Access” status at their current subscription rate! As long as you maintain a subscription, your rate will not increase!
New Products
New products will be launching throughout the next twelve months. I will be focusing on an entirely new subscription product that will integrate with WooCommerce. This will make WP-Members even more powerful and expandable.
Some of the plugin’s extensions will be expanded to be stand-alone products. This will include the User List and User Tracking extensions. I will be expanding the features of these plugins as well.
Keep in mind, current subscribers will have access to these new products as part of their subscription – whether All Access or Lifetime.
Also currently in the R&D laboratory at RocketGeek is a customer support ticket plugin (which will be rolling out here on RocketGeek.com to be fully tested) and a plugin licensing tool (which is also going to be implemented here for robustness testing).
Expanded Content Library
Also forthcoming will be more content. I’m going to be putting together more content focused on WordPress and WooCommerce beyond just WP-Members (although I’ll continue to produce code snippets and tutorials for that, too). I’m also developing a course on WordPress Development for non-developers. This will be geared towards helping WordPress administrators who are not developers learn how to effectively manage WordPress development. If you’ve never looked at code, there will be introductory information to get you the information you need and if you already know PHP, you’ll be able to jump in and learn WordPress-specific tips and tricks, best practices, and how to properly expand and manage WordPress.
Don’t forget – pricing is going up, so if you’re not a subscriber now, lock in your pricing by subscribing for All Access or All Access Lifetime now – before the price increase.
