MailChimp Extension 2.0 Upgrade

The MailChimp Integration Extension just received a major update.  The entire extension was rebuilt from the ground up using the MailChimp 3.0 API.  This makes things much more stable and useable, and will lead to a host of new features in the future.  For now, most of the features stay essentially the same.

If you are upgrading the MailChimp extension from a previous version to version 2.0, here are some items to keep in mind.

How to remove old block meta keys

Historically, the plugin’s method of blocking or unblocking individual posts and pages was with the meta keys “block” and “unblock”.  These were replaced in 2.9.8 with a single post meta key “_wpmem_block” with a value of either 1 or 0.

The plugin continues to read the old meta values, so there is no requirement to change or update these.  The only time this matters is if the blocking of an individual post or page that may have one of these old values needs to be changed.  Continue Reading →

It seems like I just released 3.1.1 and here we are with 3.1.2 getting ready to go out the door.  I’m so excited about the 3.1 series of releases because we are really starting to expand the plugin and its ability for you to customize simply and easily.  If you haven’t updated to 3.1.x, you are missing out.  Be sure to take a look at what was done in 3.1.0 and 3.1.1.  I’ve added new field types, an official (an expanding) series of API functions, new and expanding filters, and a ton of fixes.    Continue Reading →
