There are different approaches to importing users into a WordPress site. The simplest method is to use a plugin. We have had success with the “Import and export users and customers” plugin.

Sometimes it may be necessary to remove all WP-Members entries in the database. While the plugin can generally clean up after itself using the “delete” option in the WP Plugins panel, this essentially removes settings information. There are some additional entries that may be left behind depending on your configuration. This includes some user meta data, and if membership products are used, some post meta data. Currently, the User List delivers a link to a user’s detailed profile as https://yoursite.com/your-profile-page/?uid=123. I have been wanting to make that cleaner with a URL like: https://yoursite.com/your-profile-page/username/ or something of that type for some time.
This is planned as a feature for the plugin’s 2.0.0 release. However, until that is read for release
It has been something that I’ve been working on and since it is taking some time to complete, I decided that I would publish some custom options you can do with some filters and actions. I have made these essentially “cut-and-paste” options so that you don’t really need to do anything to the code snippet other than add it to your functions.php file (or wherever you put custom code snippets).
